A little about me and my artwork...
Over the last twenty five years I have worked with watercolour, acrylic and oils and I like them all for their differences.
The process of painting is my inspiration and I find the hands-on creation of my art is a satisfying yet humbling experience. There are many times when the making of a piece becomes a battle between the two of us and I am not always sure who will win.

Describing my work is difficult... I am reluctant to call myself purely a landscape painter but I know a reference to landscape can be seen in some of my work. If I feel a piece is getting too literal I knock it back and I like it when I can achieve a sense of mystery. If the painting invites a viewer to complete the puzzle for themselves I am happy.
The gallery of paintings on my website has images to view of my recent work made with oils, acrylics, watercolour and inks. Some are abstracted landscapes and others are pure abstract mark-making. I paint daily so the images will be changed as new work is made.

In 2013 I was accepted as a member of the Lincolnshire Artists' Society and served on the committee. I have recently retired from being Chair of the Society and the photograph was taken at the opening of the 2025 Society exhibition at Doddington Hall.

My paintings have won awards and I have exhibited in solo and group shows in Lincolnshire.

I am delighted to be setting up some private tutorial workshops this year in my studio. If you are interested in joining me, I shall share ideas about creating some abstract landscapes in oils. The addition of various painting mediums and cold wax will show you how paint can be used. This is also an opportunity to work purely from imagination without reference to photographic images.
Contact me to have more information. You will have one-to-one guidance and a relaxing day, experimenting with the provided materials and taking home your new artwork. I shall look forward to meeting you.
My paintings are like 'friends' and I have them all in the studio. Some are available to buy.
