Going with the Flow...

Monochrome oil painting in sepia tones, atmospheric landscape

Morning’…a gentle start to the day. Sometimes I have an urge to reproduce a painting but so far I have never succeeded. This morning I tried again and once more it was rubbed down and a new piece has emerged. The oil colours are Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine Blue, Raw Sienna and white and my choice of paper was Zeiler A5 with a linen texture. It’s proved again to be robust and withstood my vigorous rubbing and scraping. Now this little picture can dry and join the others on my studio walls.

I like to make landscape paintings with atmosphere and a sense of mystery. I go with the flow and accept what happens. Many times a painting is rubbed back and I begin again. It's all part of my painting life.
