Rescuing a painting

Abstract oil painting in red, purple, blue and green shapes

Rescuing a painting is very satisfying. I made a start yesterday on some abstract paintings which reached what I call an 'ugly' stage. It wasn't wise to continue until they had dried. I began reworking them this morning and used three oils, red, blue and white. Some marks were added and a little drawing into the paint, revealing some of the underneath layers.

Here is my favourite... I have titled it 'Ta-dah'.

Here is another one...

‘Play with it’…from ugly to intention. Reworking yesterday’s pieces. Just two colours and white have been at play here. Red, blue and white. That’s all. I think the picture came alive with the swoosh of light blue and the line drawing is a supporting act. About a 6 inch square piece of oil paper with a fine canvas texture. After thinking this canvas texture might not be suitable I rather like it.
